Something Different
There's something different between us,
not quite like we used to be at all.
The way you talk,
there's something wrong.
You hold my hand,
proclaim love,
but the innocence is gone.
I miss the notes
you used to give me,
the way you caused my heart to beat,
the soft "good-bye" you'd whisper sweetly
whenever you were forced to leave me.
There's something missing in your eyes.
This is no longer right.
So, for now,
good-bye.
