I Didn't Understand

So young to understand,
Didn't know what happened,
Sadness splashed over us.
Only 10, early in the morning,
Cold whispered as ambulances come.
Tears molding into a river.
News spread like a disease.
Uncle Johnny raised,
Heaven lifted him.
His soul sang as he rested.
A winter breeze sang.
I didn't understand.
Why he was taken away.
