The Rain

I watch the rain trickling
Down the windows.
Down
Down
Down. . .
The soothing sound
Filling my ears. Making
Me feel instantly relaxed.
The lighting strikes and
Thunder rolls over the
Mountains. The cat
Hides under the couch
And the dog cowers.
Then, as if on command,
The sun shines through the
Curtains. Everything glitters
And shines. It seems as though
The earth is standing perfectly
Still. I take a breath and smile.
