The Still of the Night
In the still of the night,
There are many secrets,
Concealed.
Light reflects
A brilliant glow,
The river sparkles and shines.
As water flows over rocks,
Faint distant sound fills the silence,
Crickets and frogs chirp and croak to a rhythmic tune.
There he is.
Silver light reflects in his brown hair,
His eyes gaze around, searching.
Snap!
A twig breaks,
He turns his head.
A light haired woman creeps out of the forest.
She slowly approaches.
Their eyes meet,
The warmth of their love bridges the gap.
The silver moon brought them together
Once more by the flowing river.
Their embrace is a vow never to part again.
