Guessing
I guess that I lost your heart
I guess that you really did love me once
Once.
But like the rain that falls
Off my face in streams like tears
You’re gone, swimming downstream
I scream your name, wishing
You’d come back for a season or two.
Just a few.
But you keep swimming,
Thinking to yourself, that
I’d never understand why you can’t stay,
Why you had to go
And you’re right. I’ll never understand.
Because you said you loved me.
Apparently not enough to turn around for just a moment
And explain why you wanted me out of your life so bad.
