The Day Everything Broke
Gather round and I'll tell you a story
Make of this no joke
For this a story of sorrow; The day everything broke
Everything seemed sunny, on that fateful date
But things are never as they seem, and behind the sun was hate
This hate was so well hidden, to the world it was unknown
But it was the worst kind of sentiment ever to be shown
Gnarled up and bitter, rotten to the core
Violent and churning, like a sea storm on the shore
Jealousy and greed were mixed into this foe
Making the most fatal cocktail anyone could know
Everyday as it lay idle in it’s secret hiding space
It grew to be twice it’s size, speeding up it’s pace
Finally one day, the sun could hide it no more
And all the hate behind it, out it began to pour
It tour apart old friendships, and it showed no mercy
For all that it saw in it’s path were people’s apathy
It did not feel much shame, as it ripped through the hearts
For peoples selfishness and lies had fueled it from the start
If they hadn’t been so blind they could have stopped it in it’s tracks
But people only see what they want to see; things that will save their backs
So be wise, remember things are never as they seem
And there are more important things then your own selfish dream
So please just stop pretending, or your hate will spill out too
Instead just do the things that you really want to do
Maybe you’ll be lonely, but bitter you won’t be
