Love is Five Steps
What does love look like? More importantly, what does it feel like? Does it feel like the impact of a collision with a car going full speed? Does it look like a room full of everyone you knew, there to celebrate you?
Questions, questions, questions. But no answers.
I think I spent a lot of time stuck in my head that day, thinking. No, I mean-
I always spent a lot of time thinking. But that day I tried my best not to. In the pew, I kept my vision on the back of the seat in front of me, going in and out of focus. The voices hummed in my ear, white noise to me, until the chiming of bells suddenly signaled silence. I sat in the empty space, small in the belly of the stone cathedral ceilings. I thought to myself, I will never feel more alone from this day on.
Until that night I lay in my bed, and I swear I slept against your outline. That night I dreamt with the wisdom of a thousand men, and learned tomorrow is a day to remember you.
