This Night, I Swear I Have Felt It Before
I swear I heard it oh,
I swear I heard that heart break,
A thousand miles away seems so far,
When I told her I had to go,
Go take some time
Think about this past year.
I need to take it slow,
Take my time,
Pick this situation a-part.
Its been to long for me to call this home.
We swore we'd have each other,
Agreed on nothing more
We would never let go.
I'd be all you want and more.
But these cross-roads,
Bring back so many times,
Thousand memories bout how you held me,
Held my threads to this broken mended heart.
You know you had me,
Right there holding on,
Praying for this right,
Begging for no wrong,
But time just doesn't freeze for that long.
This was not my fault.
Here we go now,
End that scene and let's begin take two,
You pulled up to my drive way.
Bringing back that smile on my face
Arise my nervous shakes
It's like the past was over,
And this could be a start,
A start of something new.
We got this down like we used to,
I smile, take your hand in mine,
We walk down these isles,
Smile one and one, blocking out the sun,
No one else could compete with the way we were complete,
You're taking me home,
My legs are shaking,
Nothing left but to close my eyes,
Then look out your window.
The city lights again,
We past this place so many times before.
I close my eyes so tight,
I feel your hand upon mine.
I turn my palm and question my whole heart,
Is this doing right, should it be so bright,
Its the middle of the night,
When did we mark this on our plight.
I looked into your eye,
You looked deep back in mine,
Time would have never,
Run as slow that time.
To taste those lips,
Or grab the handle.
I thought it once,
Drempt it twice.
Pulled the handle and complete this night
You see I'm not quiet ready
My head is not on my neck as steady.
As that first cold night,
We locked our lips so tight.
And now I set my feet.
Listen to the beat,
From your car.
I turn my head and say nothing at all.
And I waited for your call,
As you left.
I shut the door slow I swear.
I walked into this room I could not bare.
