You were to be born on a nice warm bed
To land on the softest of all pillows
You were to be born a baby with ten toes and ten fingers
To be born healthy
And peacefully
That anyone would be proud of
You were to be born a ruler of all rulers
The kindest of all people
The smartest
And the bravest
You were born not on a nice warm bed
Or to land on the softest of all pillows
You were born on a cold concrete floor
Where you breathed your last breath
And I too died with you
