Recess MAG
On the playground, we kids find a fallen angel.
Angel of Man, Angel of the Sun, we're not quite sure
But one thing is for certain: he has crooked wings
Bent at 90 degrees, skewed feathers dyed white.
We think it is only the fourth-graders playing
Some foul trick on us, when later they will laugh
At how easily we confused a white man for an angel,
An angel-man for a child.
