A Wanting
Would you be blinded your fearful end,
that you might mistake a fresh beginning?
Let your eyes to see, the near end or not,
to find yourself at face with courage outright,
lest to take your leaving upon the dark blot of night.
Unbeknownst you the erring, left undone,
such a way to you would have wished another,
foul regret furthest back
where the place of persons themselves do act.
Now,
you are turned toward Him, a wanting,
but your eyes!
Meant never to gaze everlong.
