The lonely three
A boat lost at sea,
Or the last standing tree,
Both somehow relate to me.
Alone and drifting the boat has no home.
In the dark, daring sea, not even a moan
The cold, eerie wind is able to groan.
The tree all alone, is dying inside.
With no one it can confide.
To live, I dare say, it has tried,
But now just counts the time ‘till it dies.
And me, the same as the tree and boat,
Without a friend in the world with whom I can joke.
I scream, but no sound comes from my throat,
All my troubles alone I must tote.
Must forever alone be,
The boat lost at sea,
The last standing tree,
And the small, sad girl of me?
