Glass
A piece of glass, dirty, but beautiful
So fragile, it is broken,
chipped and scratched
Its edges are sharp.
Hold it too tight, and it will cut deeply,
Even as it breaks.
Hold it too loosely,
And it will slip away,
out of reach,
Shattering into a million pieces.

The imagery is beautiful. I interpreted this to be a message about the unattainables in life and how there are no happy mediums. We settle for extremes, but one of two things happen when we do that. We are either cut, or the situation gets out of hand and we are left to pick up the pieces we caused to shatter and spread. I like the first line, it says it all for me "dirty, but beautiful", similar to the life we face everyday, the world is a messy place with all sorts of beautiful things happening!
I loved it!
