Pictures
So cut and clean and happy
Fake smiles hide dark secrets which our eyes cannot see
Directed by people, in which way to stand next to our “loved ones”
When in our minds, we are so far away
A picture’s worth a thousand words
But not all of them are true
Painted smiles and fake glass eyes are hiding the truth within you
Darkness hides beneath the frame which seems so warm and true
A picture only captures a moment, which for most, is fake
Your soul is screaming, and your makeup hides your tear stained cheeks
You put on your best Sunday clothes, to hide the bruises, cuts, and blood
Yes, pictures are deceiving
So which ones will you believe?
