The Search
You’re so sweet
So genuine.
We have so much in common
But I’m me
And you’re you
Im picky
Too picky
For my own good.
I should accept you
For who you are on the inside.
But I can’t.
I see you,
The physical you
And I cringe.
I shouldn’t, of course
But I do.
You aren’t perfect
No one is.
But that’s what I want.
Something
Someone
That defies everything.
The kind of guy
Only found in
Fairytales
And dreams.
You’re not him.
You’ll never be.
I’m not worthy of him.
I’ll never be.
Yet
I’ll never be happy
Until I find that which doesn’t exist.
