I am Second

I am second.
I always have been;I always will be.
I can’t wear a crown.
I have no choice in the paths I take.
I am second.
I am yoked to my master.
I am a servant.
I go were he wants and do as he says.
Yet, I am second by choice.
I am contented with my lot.
My joy is for my master to look down
And say, “Well done, my child.”
Lord,
I am second
