A Taiwanese Funeral
Fall like the fluttering ash,
Crumble to dust in the breeze,
Catch the dying flame fast,
Faster or else I will bleed.
Red into black into gray,
Fade like the light of the day,
Grey and then white and then gone,
It's still not time to move on.
Burn down the house and the car,
Watch as they're covered in fire,
Blackened and frail like my heart,
But the rain means nothing survived.
Etch a short word into wood,
Blamed for a crime that's not yours,
Thought's can be misunderstood,
Confusion is opening doors.
