I look around, and all I see
is the darkness of shadows that live in me
Thoughts that wander, forevermore
Emotions, memories, and something more

Now is the time to think things through
with quick precision, yet leave time to muse
"For what you believe, or what you know?"
Now I ask this question, before I go

Trapped in only dark it seems
Staring at the mirror of my soul
Only to see staring back at me
a void of death, a darkened hole

Now to find the key to the door
That leads me out of my inner core
back to the light, with it's cleansing beams
before I fall apart from the seams
