To Be Lost
Most are lost in the dark, where not a thing can be seen.
Alone in the park, or stranded in the merciless sea.
Running through the woods, not knowing which way to turn,
Swimming through waves no one could ever make it through alive.
Searching for home, a place where we can relax.
Forever we roam, until they get back or die trying.
Little does the world know that there is more to lost than not able to get home.
One doesn’t have to go away to lose their way.
Lost in the place I’ve known my whole life.
I know every face, but I know they’re not right.
I can’t find my way through the rain that never seems to cease.
I can’t get rid of this pain that there is no cure for.
Lost in my very own house that I’ve lived in for years.
I always cry, because I still don’t know.
Where is my haven, the place everyone has to call home?
Black as the feather of a raven, my heard yearns for that undiscovered place.
Lost in the fears of what is yet to come.
Lost in the years that pass too quickly to count.
Lost in not knowing where I’m supposed to be.
Lost in not going where I’m supposed to go.
