The Dream
I’m at my old house once again,
Its different, it’s changed, it’s bigger.
I go up the stairs to my parent’s old bedroom,
Into their closet where I find a small spiral staircase.
I walk up the stairs where I find a small room,
Filled with dolls,
They seem to be looking at me, bearing their eyes into my soul.
I hear a voice; the dolls start to move,
I run down the stairs,
Through the living room, to the kitchen and out the back door.
I’m in my backyard now; I hear a loud rawr, like a dinosaur,
It’s a T-Rex,
He chases me up a street, I’m running as fast as I can, and find somewhere to hide.
I’m in my other house now, in the basement,
My parents tell me that the stuffed clowns don’t come to life and try to kill me,
They lock me downstairs to face my fear.
I’m alone now, trapped with them,
It goes dark, I’m getting scared, then I hear movement.
Then bright lights, I see their faces, scary and bloodthirsty,
I’m trapped, my heart starts pounding,
Beep! Beep! Beep!
My alarm goes off; I awake screaming, tangled in the blankets, drenched in sweat,
Thankful it was just a dream.
