The Eagle
He soars
Casting his shadow, never lingering
Never pausing, not even for mere moments
He flies
Skimming across the sparkling river
A thousand diamonds reaching up to greet him
He glides
The sun plays joyfully with him
Hoping to join his game, caressing his body gently
He swoops
Across the tangled brambles, clawing at him
Around the grounded mountains, hoping to catch his wings
He flees
Away from the sun drenched forests, away from the sparkling, winking river
Away from the jealous mountain, forever rooted to the ground
Away from the shadow that is always following him
He fears
For no matter how fast he flies, glides, soars and swoops
The shadow is always trailing behind him
Looming
Until it finally catches up
The call of the wild
Is cut short
