My Hometown
Staten Island
My hometown is like a zoo
Kids running around not knowing left from right
Every one shouting at the top of their lungs
You can hear complaints from up the block
One wants to go outside
One wants her shoes tied
One wants his games
And the other just wants to go
Moms yell and put their kids in time out
She takes away their games
She takes away their phones and toys
My hometown is like a mob scene
There are people everywhere
They all look down at the sidewalk
They never smile when they walk
But this is my home
This is Staten Island
