Those Smiling Eyes
Flowers, arranged in a decorative vase.
Smiles, little gestures that make anyone’s day.
Chocolate, the best friend of many…
Flowers, Smiles, Chocolates… things that protect us,
Things that keep us from feeling the pain behind our Smiling Eyes.
Those Smiling Eyes.
It is everywhere, yet we pretend not to see It.
Ignore It; push It to the side,
Wishing It would fade away,
Wishing It will never see the light of day,
Turning the light to dark dark distress,
Forever that is where It will be,
Until one is not immune to the cries of misery,
Found behind those Smiling Eyes.
It is everywhere and It will stay.
