Summer Time
The summer sunset burns bright red
There’s a light breeze to lessen the heat
The lake shimmers with the last few rays
Our sun-tanned skin glowing in the fading light
We move closer, sitting on the edge of the pier
Taking in the day’s beauty
Slowly realizing the day is far from done
We can sit under countless twinkling stars
Talk endlessly by the fireside
The night breeze will hold up tightly
Together we’ll lose track of time
Until it’s finally time for us to say goodnight
There will be a promise that we will do it all again soon
Summer is our time
