Eternal
A pity for you to find me
a pity for us to fall
a wonder for you to knock down
this concrete wall—
bricks upon which
we built our lives:
now too late to return
and too soon to survive.
you’ll never remember
what you choose to forget
and so you ignore
what you have to protect
…
you think me a doll
so fragile and pale
but soon you will find
she shall never reveal
a heart begged to beat
so hard and crest-fallen:
evermore incomplete,
evermore forgotten.
