Ice Cube
When my vision blurs I put the small piece in my mouth. Its freshness mixes with the salty taste of my tears. The coolness slides down my swollen throat and soothes the ache. It almost feels like I have been in the desert for a day and the clouds have finally started to leak. Ice may make bumps and bruises feel better, but it can also help fill an emptiness inside… cool a flame of anger… numb the feeling of sadness we all feel sometimes.
… Ice.
