Our Generation's Education
The chalk on the blackboard
Was so timeless and inviting
It encouraged me to learn
More that day then ever
The way the white stick squeaked
And the blackboard absorbed its marks
Made me feel existent
The text on the Smartboard
Is so cold and innovative
It makes my eyes glaze over
More than my textbook
The way it messes up every minute
And every letter looks the same
Makes me feel lifeless
The writing in my notebook
Was so unique and full of errors
It was complete and full of life
More than my text messages
The way I could erase my marks
And write wherever I wanted
Made me feel existent
The document on my computer
Is so dull and perfect
It tells me if I messed up
More than I tell myself
The way the little line blinks at me
And the squiggly red line laughs
Makes me feel lifeless.
