Swallowing Black
Black is the toughest colour to swallow
with it’s chucks of liquorice that taste bitter yet
so, so, so sweet
and it’s rotted blood
that reminds you of sickness and pain and
death
so much death
Black with it’s thunder filled nights
When you sit in your bedroom,
Cloaked with darkness, and
you feel either completely
alone
or completely
alive and full and whole
Black and it’s heart
and the person you just can’t get
because they’re so cold, distant, unattainable
but that only makes you want them
more
Doesn’t it?
Doesn’t it?
Black is not an easy colour to swallow
because it lodges in your throat
tearing bloody wounds in your tender flesh
so try your hardest
and if you don’t make it
try and try
again
