Passing the Days
Putting aside the book, sighing in regret
Nothing exciting has happened here yet
Staring out the window with my vacant eyes
Wondering what other shades color the skies.
Shades of grey and black tint the world that surround my room
Unable to walk with legs poisoned by weed, I feel for my doom.
I cannot go anywhere as my parents hold my fate
Instead I must simply sit by my window and wait.
They say they love me with all their heart
But I know that they’re just playing the part.
When they think I cannot hear their words, I listen to their faults
Someday I’ll escape this room, but for now I wait in these vaults.
