I Feel It
I feel it. Something. Something in the air.
Was it the pungent odor of the
Sweat
Beating
Down all of our faces?
Squeaking of our shoes on a freshly mopped court?
Maybe. Maybe not.
Crowd cheering, coach screaming, ‘Move it, get back, get back—shoot it. NOW’
Barely hear myself
Think.
There’s that feeling again-- still don’t know what the heck it is.
As we run up
And down, and down and up trying to keep up with coaches’ demands
I tried to decipher this feeling.
Just.Won’t.Leave.Me. Alone.
Not even for one quarter, concentrate.
one wish. I wish…
I knew what this feeling was.
