Night Vision
I drive alone
In the dark
On those warm summer nights
Gives me fear
Of something near
As far as my headlights
I see the tunnels
Of the trees
From the moonlight as it glows
And as I drive
I come alive
As the shadow only grows
The adrenaline
Starts to pump
And suddenly there’s lies
Because what I see
Couldn’t be
Right before my eyes
The street lights
Start to flicker
In the distance one goes out
And I know
That’s how it goes
But suddenly there’s doubt
I look into
My rearview mirror
Anxious of what I’ll see
Because if I’ll die
If I see some eyes
Staring back at me
The wind
Is still blowing
Hard against my car
I feel alone
Going home
Though the distance isn’t far
I drive alone
In the dark
On those warm summer nights
Gives me fear
Of something near
As far as my headlights
