Song of a Poet
I’m so filled with words.
They come from my heart.
I spill them out
Onto the page
And then tame them
Into something beautiful
And lyrical.
I’m so filled with thoughts.
They come from my restless mind,
They won’t leave me alone.
I try to calm these thoughts,
But I only make them angry.
They don’t cease until they are expressed.
The steady, rhythmic beat of their calls echos.
I’m so filled with emotions.
They come from my soul.
My soul is never content with one emotion.
It explores them all,
But is never satisfied.
It drags me through a whirlwind of drama,
The melody of teenage life.
I’m so filled with
Words and thoughts and emotions.
They come from my very being.
And when colliding together,
They sing the song
Of a poet.
