My Sin, My Key
Behind some door, the fire rages on
yet frost and ice will greet you
My sins are held in such a world
where they are bound by my shame
redemption is the chains that bind them
And pride the crippled beast that guards them
the lock is melded from dishonor, and the key...
the key has corrupted me
so I may never open the lock
so I may never best the beast
so I may never loosen the chains
even a little, to let my sins breathe
And i know by all the truths that haunt me
If in grace i were to die
with my last words, i would lie...i would lie...
And even the demons could not pry
My sinful key from my lifeless corpse
