Monopoly
We are just a game of Monopoly.
You moved first,
And you kept rolling doubles
So I didn’t get to go for a while.
Finally, when it was my turn,
I passed you in one move.
Three turns into the game,
And I was leading you by a lot.
I had thrice the cash you had,
And four times your property.
I had oceanfront views with hotels,
And sky-high rent.
You had one railroad,
And only three properties on the first row
Where the rent is dirt cheap
I haven’t even passed Go yet
And you’ve already mortgaged everything you own
You’ve already sold all your houses
And your get-out-of-jail-free cards
The sad thing was you’ve been playing this game for years,
And this was my first time.
