I met a poem in my head today
He was very sweet and lighthearted
He talked of love and friendship
He told many stories of girls who found their princes
While he was speaking I heard a sinister voice speak
“Your poem lies! Love is a myth and friendship is merely a legend.
Your so called prince is a myth too.
And your so-called friends will stab you in the back.”
I believed the Voice
I left my poem behind and his tales with him
And from then on the Voice followed me everywhere
Whenever love entered my life HE drove it out
I’ve always wondered what might have happened
But who knows
No matter the case
I’m glad I met that poem in my head
