My necklace
My life is a necklace
Delicately placed in one spot,
Adjusted back and forth
I have not yet served a purpose,
Though I hope I will
I try to shine
I am a diamond,
The sun and the stars
Sometimes I forget my purpose
And hide in my lonely gold box
I am trapped,
Isolated from the world
Though it is my own doing
And there’s no one else to blame
I feel safe in my home but I want to explore
I want see things I have never seen before
I want to go where the plants sparkle with their pure green coloring
Where the birds are singing their tune
The rocky pebbles swarm underneath me
This is why the next time I am set free
I will not hesitate
I will shine even brighter
I am delicately placed in one spot,
My life is a necklace
