The Wait
You have come and gone, and I’ve stayed right here waiting,
Waiting for you to come back,
Back to the way we used to be,
Be together and in love,
A love that meant so much to me,
But you have come and gone, and I’ve stayed right here waiting,
Waiting for a change,
A change to evoke me of my senses; to bring me back to life.
Please bring me back to life,
A life that me and you shared together,
Together, forever, & always is what we used to say.
But you can only say so much, and I can’t say anything anymore because I’m hurt.
Hurt is something you said you would never do to me, and I believed you,
Because that’s what you do when you’re in love, you believe in what you have, and you made me believe in you.
But you have come and gone, and I’ve stayed right here waiting,
And that’s what I will continue to do,
Wait for the grains of sand to keep falling in this hourglass called life.
