The First Time
Cloaked in darkness
Thrilled by the risk of chase
We slip away together
To the water’s warm embrace
You whisper in my ear
Lips brushing past my skin
And though I don’t hear you
I need that rush again
Slowly and with caution
You wrap your arms around my waist
Our lips meet in the middle
And passion takes fears place
The moon shines down upon us
The voracious bats take flight
Inside, our parents slumber
Our secret’s safe tonight
