Glass
Your words cut the deepest through me.
Like the shattered glass upon the floor.
But through you, impossible to see.
It makes me yearn for the glass more.
I said I wouldn’t pick up your pieces,
But instead I walk, hurt and bleeding.
The door is locked, our secrets keep us,
Scared of the pain, never proceeding.
My tears running like razor blades,
My face covered in streaks of blood.
When all we knew and loved fades,
We no longer try, we no longer should.
Breaking down one scream at a time,
We hate this fate, we hate this love.
But knowing that alone we no longer shine.
Apparently our scars weren’t deep enough.
