My Everything
He is my morning up of orange juice.
The first word spoken to me long before dawn.
The first look in the mirror to start my day.
He is my heat in the summer,
but my cold in the winter.
The warmth of summer,
warming me like an oven.
And the cold of winter,
freezing me like an ice cube.
He is a star in the sky.
The brightest one,
shining bright.
The one that stands out and catches your eye.
He is the breath I take that keeps me going.
The times when I think no one is there,
he is right next to me,
ready to hold my hand.
He is my everything.
My day,
and my night.
My beginning,
and my end.
The first,
and last breath I will take.
He is like a tattoo on my heart.
His ink may fade,
but it will never completely go away.
Always with me,
a constant reminder of what we were,
are,
and will be.
