Until We Meet Again
We stand by your grave and mourn.
Your family and close friends.
It’s just so sad
that you took your life to the end.
I just feel so bad
with this guilt I feel inside.
I knew something was wrong,
but couldn’t decipher why.
There was just something different
about the look in your eye.
So when it comes to my turn to speak
I turn and walk away,
because a few good words
won’t make a change.
I could have been there
when you needed me the most.
Instead I sat back and waited
like a shy, cowardly ghost.
So here I am beside my bed
praying as I bow my head.
“Dear God please relay
the message that I’m so sorry for that day.
Please tell her
she was great.
And that each day I will wait
until we meet again.”
