Nowadays
The hands of time keep turning,
Grasping hours and minutes as the go.
The Earth on its axis keeps turning,
Swallowing space and time as it goes.
The almighty scythe keeps swinging,
Taking life, space, and time at once.
Hear the engine roar as the train rumbles,
Whistle bellowing like a deathly bell,
Clattering precariously down the track,
Ominous, powerful, unstoppable.
On the rails is tied Lady Liberty,
Torch extinguished, mangled expression,
Looking up at her friend Sam,
Smiling crookedly, knotted beard,
Laughing all the while.
The train attempts to halt,
But it can’t. It’s too late.
The train is derailed as it collides,
Taking the miser and mistress both.
Thus have the hands of time
Swung the Demon’s scythe,
Stopping Earth for that fatal second.

Thanks, Hannah! I've been meaning to tell you my stuff recently got in here, but I didn't have a computer available and my iPod was being stupid and wouldn't let me comment. It's also been upsetting me that I made a couple typos in some of my poems, but oh well.
So how have you been doing?
