Nobody Knew
The clouds separated to form a hole in the sky
Light descended upon the earth
Trees grew
Grass grew
Life flourished.
Nobody knew.
The clouds sealed up
Darkness descended upon the earth
Trees died
Grass died
Life withered.
Nobody knew.
Storms came!
Lighting crashed and thunder rolled!
Oh, how terrible a night it was!
Thunder, the heartbeat of anger, beating down upon the canvas
I wished no harm done
I tried to contain the thunder
But my arms only reach so wide,
Only so wide.
The storms calmed, but the shadow-black clouds remained,
Immobile.
I begged, pleaded, fought, and tried to make deals with them
But they remained
However could I remove this awesome plague?
What ever could I do to be freed from this monster?
The days grew darker and the nights grew more comfortable
I sought not to remove the clouds
I sought union with the thunder
Only to my ignorant downfall.
Out of options and time I grow desperate...
DIE!
DIE DAMNED SHADOW!
DIE CURSED SOUL!
DIE FORSAKEN HABIT!
DIE!
And yet...it remained.
I grow weary.
Weak.
A voice from inside the hands that made the clouds spoke to me
It told me to let go.
Damn you clouds! How dare you!
Then, suddenly. I let go.
The sky slowly brightened
The clouds separated to form a hole formed in sky
Light descended upon the earth
Trees grew
Grass grew
Life flourished
But nobody knew.
Nobody knew.
