Memories
A single lone tear runs down my cheek
Looking back on that small short week
I knew what would have happened if I stayed
But I couldn't, wouldn't ever be played
You told me you loved me with all you had
But it wasn't enough and everything went bad
Your never-ending absence weighed a ton
But then you returned, along with your gun
You said, "If I can't have you, no one can."
I told you to suck it up and be a man
What I remember most was the look on your face
And I knew I would never again be in this time or place
I didn't get to say good-bye to my family and friends
All I want is to go back and make amends
To tell them I'm sorry for all I did
But, unfortunately, adieu is what I must now bid
