Apathy
We avoided
grey faces, speaking
whispers to each other.
Our loose shoulders
dancing on the edge of
defeat
This battle;
stopped by
meant for
left with
the lonely
only
the we who didn't
couldn't
wouldn't
speak our minds
could have died.
Our silence could
will
in the future too
handle it.
THEIR minds,
followers,
like babies in the wild
they never learned
to feel
us lost in
or forgotten by
those who handed us the sword
we finally took it
open armed
waiting
(wanting)
the defeat?
The revenge.
The chance to
smerk towards those who doubted
They were the tides
we were the rocks
pounding us with dishonor.
Their honor
now taken
given a fighting chance
just did not stand up
to the rocks
The Underdogs.
wiser than those
living in apathy,
We held it in our hands
and released it to the ground
because
The quiet are the knowing
