You told me
You said it would be okay
But I know how worried you are
You said people prayed for me
But you just had to breathe
You said you’d be there for me
But you weren’t there for the important steps
You said you’d take care of me
But you need more talking care of
You said you asked people to visit
But no one came
You told me people cared
Then why didn’t they come?
You told me I’m perfect for who I am
But you tell me to do things your way
You teach me to be polite
But its’ your elbows that are on the table
You tell me to be nice
But you make so many harsh judgments
You teach me to clean up
But you leave your dishes in the sink
You told me you needed me
But you’re the most independent person I know
You told me you love me
And I believe you
