Ice cream
melts quickly
the wily chocolate slipping through your fingers
as fleeting as time
like the slippery sand stuck in an hourglass,
the grains inevitably succumbing to gravity
falling,
falling,
falling,
disappearing into a place of no return
the ice cream, sand, and minutes
never to be had again
