Dancing on the Edge
I’m walking the line
Dancing on the edge
In Dorothy’s stolen slippers
If I fall it could break me
But I might enjoy the rush
Like darting fingers through candle flames
Or skipping barefoot in the rain
Catching sunbeams
Chasing rainbows
I can’t let these fears slow me down
I was chained by doubt
To cinderblocks of regret
Thrown in a river of unsaid words
Blinded by anger
And I’m letting go
Falling free
Smiling because I can
And laughing for being alive
Like talking to a lonely stranger
Singing loud karaoke night
Dancing like a lunatic in a club
And loving my friends without limit
I’m done with self imprisonment
Did my time, checked out in the lobby
I’m walking on a tightrope over a lion’s den and rings of fire
And it feels wonderful
I’m jumping over quicksand
And into rain puddles
I’m walking into the sunset
And singing with the dawn
Every moment steals away my breath
And everything is beautiful
Its like life is a candy shop
And I’ve got my piggy bank
Its living in suspended motion
I’ve thrown the hour glass at the wall
And thrown the sand in the air
I’m smiling because I can
Laughing cuz I’m alive
And flying to the moon
So I can sleep on starlit clouds
Why tie myself to my past?
Why wring my hands when I can sing?
Why worry when I can skip?
Life is a box of chocolates
You may not know what you get
But you know for sure its chocolate!
