An ethereal being.
She came to me in a dream;
slight in stature, yet mighty in clout,
testifying to the values of mankind.
With weary eyes, she looked upon the fiery earth and blazing battles.
She wishfully communicated a setting;
green and Arcadian.
Filled with innocence and unencumbered by possession.
Untouched bliss.

With horror,
I gazed below to witness the rage of men
and the state of the present.
However, I do not believe that my tear
reached those mortal and naïve beings.

Awakening from this dream, I blinked
only to find myself deprived of something unreachable.
Finding myself alone in thought,
I turned my back on the present,
and the future,
remembering a setting;
green and Arcadian…
