I know her all too well
I've known her for not too long now
maybe only two years
I've known her longer
but these two years, a bit more.
When she needs to write,
her leg is a piano
her fingers frantically playing.
When she's confused,
she raises her hand halfway,
her brow furrowed.
When she's hysterical,
her words are mumbled in a frenzy,
eyes darting.
I know her better than her boyfriend
her boyfriend that she "loves".
I know this all
from the hours we've spent
talking,
obsessing over boys,
reviewing makeup,
and analyzing Shakespearean sonnets.
I know her all too well.
She is my best friend.
